Review: Along Came a Spider

Along Came a Spider Along Came a Spider by James Patterson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's funny when you re read a book a million years after first reading it, how much of it you have forgotten is really surprising.

Review: Curves, Kisses and Chocolate Ice-Cream

Curves, Kisses and Chocolate Ice-Cream Curves, Kisses and Chocolate Ice-Cream by Sue Watson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 super huge chocolaty stars from me.

Wowzers again. I don't think Sue Watson could write a book I don't like. Curves, Kisses, and Chocolate Ice-Cream is another brilliant feel good read. Again Sue's books take me away from my usual reading of all things Crime and it's always a welcome break. Chance to get lost in the lives of others, and that's exactly what I did.
Anyone who enjoys a god Chic Lit book, will thoroughly enjoy this, and it would be a superb read for anyone heading off to the beach, to lie in the sun eating Ice Cream.
Dani Enjoys her ice creams, but she also enjoys anything else that isn't good for her, and has a big sugar addiction.
Dani at 39 wants to lose weight and get slimmer ready for her 40th birthday. But it's clear from early in the book Dani just doesn't' want to commit to stopping her treats, or getting fit. It's just to much like hard work, and when you work with Ice Cream it would just be ludicrous to not eat it.
When Dani does decide to do something about her weight, she heads off to the gym. Dani in the gym was just so funny, I loved this part of the story it had me laughing out loud in places and I could just see Dani doing it all.
Now fairs fair, and you can't knock the girl for trying, and try is certainly what she does, with the help of a personal trainer everything starts to change for Dani.
Join Dani on her journey and get reading this book. If  you like funny chic lit style books you will just love this.
And even better, I think It's compulsory to eat Ice Cream while reading this.

Review: A Handful of Ashes

A Handful of Ashes A Handful of Ashes by Rob McCarthy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book to feature Dr Harry Kent and like the first book it gets my Must read, seal of approval.
I enjoyed this just as much as the first book, if not more. It was fantastic being back with Harry and his wreckage of a life.
Harry is asked to attend a suicide of a whistleblowing doctor. But for Harry it soon seems that things are not so straight forward. Then when it turns out to be murder, Harry must dig deeper to uncover the truth.
And dig is what Harry does, ending up teamed up with his ex girl friend DCI Frankie Noble. Things are not great between the two of them so working together certainly isn't going to be an easy ride.
One of the things I really enjoy with these books is the mix of Medical and Crime, it makes for a much more interesting read. The authors medical background is very clear thought out the book, and just adds to the story brilliantly.
I also find the fact that the main character Harry, having some serious issues really adds to the intensity of the story. You know somewhere along the line things have got to reach a head, and his addiction to prescription drugs is only going to cause problems if and when he is found out.
Another first class read, and I fear if I say anymore I will give far to much away. This book however is certainly must read, and I will say personally I really think reading book one first would be the best move.

I cant wait for more.

Review: Unfair Justice

Unfair Justice Unfair Justice by M.A. Comley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great easy read. A Justice novella that will keep any Justice fan going for a little longer.
I find it great when this author brings out a short story to keep her growing reading fans going. And it certainly does that.
Don't think that because it's a short story it takes anything away from it being a brilliant read, because believe me, it doesn't!
We also go way back in time with Lorne working with Pete, so if you are not up to date with the series, then don't worry this won't spoil anything for you.
Lorne and Pete are investigating the murder of a teenage girl. And for fear of giving anything away I'm going to stop with the story there.
What I will say though is it is a great addition to this growing series, and well worth reading.

Looking forward to more.
