Review: What She Did: A gripping psychological thriller with an unforgettable twist

What She Did: A gripping psychological thriller with an unforgettable twist What She Did: A gripping psychological thriller with an unforgettable twist by Alex Kane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Best friend and worst enemy.
I started this book as soon as I finished 'No Looking Back' As I finished that book I knew right away I needed to read more by this author.
A great writing style and a story that you are drawn into. A story that keeps you wanting to read on. There were parts of the book I wasn't keen on and parts of the book that I loved and needed to keep going with it.
Another good read overall and I look forward to reading more.

it's told from alternating points of view, going back and forth from past to present, and I have to be honest at times I got a little confuzzled and had to go back a bit.
There are some great twists and in parts it really does hook you and keep you turning those pages.

Thanks for the chance to read and review this book.

Review: The Boss

The Boss The Boss by Caz Finlay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ohhh my dayzzzz. What a read!
Loved this book, absolutely loved it. I wanted to follow Grace's life forever, I wanted to part of it. Hell there were times in this book I actually felt like I was sat on the bar stool in the Rose & Crown listening and watching the comings and goings.
I really felt like I'd walked into this book, the moment I started reading it, I knew it was one I was going to be lost in.
Grace is taking back her life. Little by little. Having suffered in an abusive marriage it's time for Grace to put on her big girl knickers and tackle the monster that was once her husband, Nathan.
Nathan is a nasty, sly piece of work and you can really see the damage he has done to Grace. He's a typical charismatic villain Unfortunately he's also controlling and manipulative. The good looks, the gift of the gab, but no more, it's now graces to turn to show who is the boss. This is a fight for the top and you won't want to miss out on being part of it.

Set in Liverpool this Gangland thriller has everything you want from a book that is going to keep you reading until the early hours. Great twists and characters you will either love or hate. A fantastic story line with plenty packed into the pages that will keep you rooted.

I'm not always a fan of books that go from past to present, but this was done perfectly to help you get to know the characters and their back story.

Suffering with a chronic illness sometimes has it's advantages as I woke twice during the night, got up made a cuppa and got back in bed with my kindle. It didn't take me to long to get through this bad boy. Trust me when I say 'it's a book that's not to be missed'

Caz Finlay is going to be an author to watch for in this genre. She will soon be up there with some of the best. I really look forward to reading a lot more from this author. Fans of Jessie Keane, Jacqui Rose and Casey Kelleher will absolutely love this book.

Review: No Looking Back: A totally gripping crime novel that will keep you hooked

No Looking Back: A totally gripping crime novel that will keep you hooked No Looking Back: A totally gripping crime novel that will keep you hooked by Alex Kane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I've been wanting to read this book for so long. I first won a copy of Chasing the Traveller, which this book was first called. I didn't get around to reading it for one thing or another always got in the way. Deciding I needed to read some of the books I wanted to read and not just books I needed to review, I dived into this one while passing away time as my little girl was in theatre. I knew the beginning of it quite well as I seemed to have started it not taken anything in then started again, repeat.
I decided to wait until we got home and I could sit back and actually get started with out interuptions.

Once I started there was no stopping me, Although the subject matter isn't a nice one, I found this such an easy book to read. I wasn't trying to take in eleventy billion characters and figure out who was who. We follow the story, the life of Kat Denton. A lady who is in a very abusive and controlling marriage. This story follows Kat on a massive journey. I really had strong emotions through this book and really did feel for Kat. When she finally escaped the marriage we see Kat returning to how things all started, learning of her life before meeting Jimmy and then how things changed once she met him. Her life could only get better but how she does this is up to her.
This book really shows what can happen when in a controlling, abusive relationship. How things are portrayed as 'normal'. how a person can start to believe that they are at fault for everything they do wrong, and even everything they do right. The author has done brilliantly bringing this subject out, and showing that we never know what goes on behind closed doors, as they say.
Brilliantly written and a fantastic yet easy read.

Review: The Rules

The Rules The Rules by Kerry Barnes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What did I think?
Well where do you start, there is so, so much I want to say about this book, this series. It's absolutely brilliant, it's one of those books that once you start you get lost, lost in the pages, lost with the characters, nothing else in the world matters at the time of reading because you can't think of anything else other than the book. Epic, Just E P I C! This is a must read. This will be going on my 2019 'Must Read' list
I loved the previous book 'The Hunted' and was so looking forward to this, now I've finished 'The Rules' I need 'The Choice' and I need it now. I know there are bigger problems in the world, but my biggest problem in my bookish world is waiting on book 3. July can't come quick enough.
This is one of those books, you want to scream and shout about, but have to be so careful as to not give anything away. What I can say is I love the characters, I love the story line, I have gotten to know a little more of each charcter as the book has gone on and feel like i've been on a journey with them. I really can't wait to find out what is in store next.
Kerry, keep these coming, keep these amazing characters and story lines you make up in your head, oming, becuase i need more.
