Review: TAKEN WHILE SHE SLEPT a pulse-pounding Detective April Fisher crime thriller

TAKEN WHILE SHE SLEPT a pulse-pounding Detective April Fisher crime thriller TAKEN WHILE SHE SLEPT a pulse-pounding Detective April Fisher crime thriller by C J Grayson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Love finding myself a new author and i'm hoping this will become a series I can continue to read and enjoy.
Detective April Fisher Book 1.

What a great read this was. I certainly won't be going to anyone's house to sell my car. Tony takes his car to meet up with someone who wants to buy it. Getting out of the car Tony is attacked. The man is now driving off in Tony's car. The problem here is Tony's young daughter is in the back of the car. A parents worse nightmare.

Returning home to his wife Tony finds that she is now missing and there are traces of blood in the house.
Can things get any worse for Tony.
Well the answer to that is yes, things are going to get a whole lot worse.

Detective April Fisher is sent to investigate. April is having her own issues after an night out that she can't remember.

I do enjoy books that are set in and around Manchester. I find they add more to the story when I can actually visualise the places that are talked about.

This turned out to be a cracker of a read and i have no issues recommending this book.

If there is anything I know about this author, it is that i will a gripping read from her. Her books and writing style are first class. A first class read with more twists than a big twisty thing.
I couldn't see where this book was going, I knew I had to keep reading and got through the book in no time. A quality read that will have you gripped.

Review: The Bone House

The Bone House The Bone House by Caroline Mitchell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really thought I read most book from this author and started this new book to realize that it's book 3 and Ihadn't read books 1 and 2.
so you don't make that mistake here are the titles of the first 2.
The Midnight Man (Slayton Thrillers, #1)
The Night Whispers (Slayton Thrillers #2)

And the one I've just read

The Bone House (Slayton Thriller #3)

I don't feel missing the first two book took to much away from enjoying this book as I genuinlly didn't know i was starting part way through a series until I come to write this review. So for that I will say it's easy to read as a standalone. I will however go back and read the first 2 book but that is a personal choice.

I've enjoyed much of Caroline Michells books, her storytelling is superb. This is another great read.
As always this has a strong and interesting story line with some great characters. This book certainly has that creep edge to it.

Review: The Marriage Counselor

The Marriage Counselor The Marriage Counselor by Dea Poirier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What the hell have i just read/listened to.

This book has more twists than a big twisty thing. What a great, suspenseful read this was. The Narrator has just the right balance of changes in voice, adding to the suspense the whole way through. The Narrator has done an amazing job on this book.

The author has pulled off a cracker of a book. New author to me, Dee Poirier is certainly an author I will look out for in the future.

I was gripped from early on in this book, It starts off strong and continues the whole way through.

Adele is a marriage councilor, but one that hasn't realized she has issues with her own marriage. Is it too late when she discovers what problems she has. When her husband vanishes Adele is helped by her ex boyfriend who just happens to be the local cop.
Secrets are unraveled the whole way through this book and twists a plenty. I have to say the ending really did take me by surprise.
