Review: Deadly Secrets

Deadly Secrets Deadly Secrets by Robert Bryndza
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This along with another Bookouture author, is one of my most anticipated reads of the year.
I have so been looking forward to getting my grubby little hands on this bad boy. Praying for it to come out.
Oh my days, book 6, how did that happen? I absolutely love this series. Robert Bryndza has not disappointed in any of his books. Each book grows and gets exceptionally better than the last.
If you have any plans, forget them. Once this book is started it is so difficult to put it down.
Easily his best book yet.
I love the character that is Erika Foster, I would also recommend that for the best reading experience that these books are read in order.
Erika is on her way to Christmas Dinner with her Boss and his family. A dinner she doesn't want to be going to, when she spots a police officer at a crime scene. It just so happens that Erika's help really is needed here after a woman's body has been found. It's clear this is a murder case, and instantly Erika gets to work.
This book took more turns than me when i'm lost. What an amazingly written story. You suddenly start to think you know who had done something, then you find your wrong. This book really does have you guessing the whole way through. An amazing mixture of characters in this book. They complimented the story brilliantly.

It's difficult to do a book like this justice when you're crap with words, but by god it was just brilliant.

There is one thing clear on finishing this book. Robert Bryndza knows how to write, he knows what his readers want and he delivers, ten fold. Utterly Brilliant. What a ride!

Review: Behind Dead Eyes

Behind Dead Eyes Behind Dead Eyes by Howard Linskey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I hate when I've had a book to read for ages, and it turns out this good. Maybe I should not tell myself off, for not getting around to reading it sooner, and realise that some things are worth the wait.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I certainly look forward to reading more from this author. I found once I'd started the book, it was quite difficult to put it down. I wanted and needed to know exactly what was coming.
I think the book description above gives enough detail about the book. Some great character in this one, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Review: Pieces of You

Pieces of You Pieces of You by Ella Harper
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What an amazing yet emotional read, I was in pieces right at the beginning of this book. This book at the beginning brought back so many memories and our journey to conception.
I could fully relate to all that Lucy and her husband Luke were going through. The emotion in the book was real.
The descriptions of them going through IVF was just spot on.
The emotions of wanting a baby so much, that you will go through anything to get there. Regular scans, Check ups the never ending tests, the exhaustion. The mind changing experiences.
When Luke is involved in an accident, Lucy needs to decide just what it is she really wants from life. There are going to be shocks in store that will suddenly put everyone's lives into perspective.
This was although at times an emotional read, it was enjoyable. I did however find the book a little repetitive as it went on.
That aside, it was a decent read. One to really get your attention.

Review: A Dark and Twisted Tide

A Dark and Twisted Tide A Dark and Twisted Tide by Sharon J. Bolton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 4 in the Lacey Flint series . I have just realised, as I finished this book that I seem to have jumped from book one to book four. I don't know how that happened.
Ahh well, i've read it now, I can go back and read the other two books.
Lacey Flint book 4. I like the character that is Lacey Flint. She's quite interesting, yet complex. A little out of control at times, but it works well for her.
I thought this book seemed a little slow at the start, but it soon changed when it ramped up a gear.
Lacey is now working with the River Police. Once i had gotten my head around which character was which, this turned into a really enjoyable read.
I look forward to reading more from this author, and have just downloaded a short story from Amazon to keep me going.

Review: No Safe Place

No Safe Place No Safe Place by Patricia Gibney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well, well, I can't believe it's book 4 all ready. It's great to be back with the dysfunctional Lottie Parker.
Her home life is chaos, her whole life is chaos. What a brilliant character she is.

Ragmullin is the setting, and a young woman has gone missing. Then a body is found in the cemetery, as a funeral about to take place.

We then have another girl go missing, it's a race against the clock for Lottie and her team to get to grips with what the hell is going on.

Alongside this we have Lottie's private life, to put it mildly it's a bit crazy.
I feel this is what helps the character of Lottie stay real. I love the relationship she has with her partner Boyd, the banter between them and honesty with each other is great. Everyone needs someone that they can trust to work with.

I really do love this series of books, each one seems to get better with a bigger story.
A totally gripping and unputdownable read. Keeps you wanting more right up to the end.
Patricia Gibney certainly knows how to write a page turner. Personally I would say read the other books first, but I also think this would be fine as a standalone.

Review: Diary of an Adorable Fat Girl: The Complete, Full-length Novel: For anyone who's ever been on a diet

Diary of an Adorable Fat Girl: The Complete, Full-length Novel: For anyone who's ever been on a diet Diary of an Adorable Fat Girl: The Complete, Full-length Novel: For anyone who's ever been on a diet by Bernice Bloom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved it, it was a lighthearted and a fun read. A great escape from real life. This book would be great as a film.
There are so many women out there that really will relate to this book, anyone who has ever dieted or been to a slimming club. Then you will probably relate to a lot of what is happening in this book.
Slimming club for Mary Brown isn't all just about weight loss, it's where she makes friends. Although to start with she does what everyone, everywhere in any situation does, she judges people. Why do we all do that, only to find out that real people are in there.

This journey Mary goes on through this book is about growing her confidence, accepting herself as well as the weight loss. it's about facing her issues, and the reasons she has those issues. It's been a great journey to go on with Mary.
Alongside the fun and the laughs in this book, there are some serious issues.

This book is the first 3 short stories of the series all in one. I loved it, it was a great read, and anyone who enjoys a good chic lit, will really enjoy this. i gave this book 5/5 because of the enjoyment I got from the book, the fact that I wanted and needed to keep reading.
