Review: The Madam

The Madam The Madam by Jamie Raven
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a brilliant read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. So great big thanks to the Author, Publisher and to Netgalley for my review copy.

Where do you start? Well firstly this is a new author to me, so I'm always a little wary on what to expect. Having read the blub I kind of thought I would enjoy it. And I'm so glad I have read it, as it really was a bloody good read.
Lizzie Wells, Ex Call girl/prostitute what ever she want's to be called, Is The Madam. One night while working, she is suddenly covered in blood, in the same room as a man, A dead man!  And is subsequently arrested for his death and serves 3 years 11 months in Holloway prison, for Manslaughter. After pleading guilty to get the lesser charge, it doesn't stop Lizzie Claiming her innocence all the time she is there.
While inside she becomes friend and lover with Scar.
Upon release Scar is waiting for Lizzie and Lizzie is determined to find out just what happened on that night, that has robbed her of almost 4 years of her life. But things are certainly not going to be easy. There are going to be so many obstacles in her way. And maybe just maybe the truth needs to stay hidden.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, It's one of those you can really get stuck into early on, and then struggle to put it down.

I really liked the lead Character Lizzie Wells.  she is a very strong female character that is determined to get to the truth, no matter what. Only she doesn't always choose the right people to trust.
I enjoy books with gutsy ballsy women and this is certainly one of those.
I have to admit to that towards the end I has a slight lump in my throat. I think its brilliantly written and put together.

A super big thank you to the Publishers, Author and Netgalley for a review copy of this book.
