Firstly, a massive thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me a review copy of this book.
I need to be careful here, that I'm not giving to much away. It's only a 166 page book, so it is a very quick read, but don't let that put you off because believe me it doesn't stop it being a bloody good read.
This though is one of those stories that grabs your attention, and you know you have to keep going, and like me you'll probably do this in one sitting.
Paige Dawson is the mother of a murdered child, and if that wasn't enough, her husband killed himself. So its understandable that her life isn't very good at the moment, well that might be an understatement. I'd actually say she's pretty well screwed up. She's a mess, Constantly drunk and addicted to prescription pills, it doesn't seem that life can get any lower.
Her mother in law has tried to help, to be honest she's now at a stage of disgust, what more can she do to help her daughter in law.
You really do find yourself feeling sorry for Paige and really rooting for her to get her act together. I felt that strongly towards this character that you'd have thought it was someone I actually know. The Author has done an amazing job with this book.
This is the first book I have read by Jack Jordan, but I'm guessing it certainly won't be the last one.
This is a really interesting read and well worth giving it a go.
