Review: Killer on the Fens

Killer on the Fens Killer on the Fens by Joy Ellis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Firstly super big thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC of this book.

This is certainly one of my favourite crime/thriller series at the moment. And I look forward to hearing of more books in this series in the future. I will certainly be reading them. Joy Ellis certainly has a writing talent. She has written yet another gripping book, another book that you don't want to put down, it's certainly a page turner.
I recently finished book 3, and after it ended I couldn't wait to start this one, book 4. The books in order are
NIKKI GALENA SERIES
Book 1: CRIME ON THE FENS
Book 2: SHADOW OVER THE FENS
Book 3: HUNTED ON THE FENS
Book 4: KILLER ON THE FENS

Personally I would suggest they are read in order, as it gives you a better feel for the background of the characters.

So here we are, back with Nikki and back on the Fens. As if Nikki hasn't gone through enough recently (which is why I suggest reading the others first) she has now got to cope with her fathers death.
As he died the one last thing he said was EVE, the problem is Nikki doesn't know anyone called Eve, or where she can find her. But this was her fathers wish, and Nikki being the person she is will go all out to find out who she is.

This alongside a new case that she is working with her partner Joseph Easter. The discovery of a very injured drug dealer who seems to have fallen down a shaft. Investigating this turns up yet more horrors. Horrors that include strange noises and lights being seen over the marshes. There seems to be a lot more than just historical investigations going on over on the marshes but can the team figure out what is happening before things come to close for comfort.

Brilliantly written and woven together, it makes the twists and suspense in this book, leaving you wanting more.
